I was the kid in school that hated PE class. The thought of physical activity was unpleasant to say the least, and the only thing that seemed worse was healthy eating. I developed less than ideal eating habits at a young age, which is why I struggled with my weight for most of my life. However, it reached its peak in 2018-2019, when I had gained 60lbs in less than a year due to a severe eating disorder.
I will never forget how miserable that year was. Not only was the weight gain very uncomfortable to live with, I felt completely disconnected from my true self. This was definitely the darkest chapter in my life.
In mid-2019, I had an epiphany while on a weekend getaway with friends. I remember having some alone time by a river, and I told myself, “when you get home, everything is going to change. You’re going to start going to the gym almost every day. You’re going to figure out how to get your nutrition in check. And this time, you’re never going to look back”
And I never looked back.
2 ½ years later, I am happy to say that I lost all the weight I gained from the eating disorder, plus an extra 30 pounds. About a year into my weight loss journey (May 2020), I got into weight lifting and absolutely fell in love with it. I realized that fitness is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me, and I wanted others to find a similar sense of happiness and fulfillment. This realization inspired me to become a Certified Personal Trainer.
I’ve worked in the industry for about a year now, and I genuinely couldn’t imagine doing anything else. Training and weight lifting are the highlights of my day. I love working with my clients and seeing them make such amazing progress. Plus, I love showing them how empowering exercise can be. Learning how to lift weights and how to focus on the mind-muscle connection has helped me to be more in tune with myself and my body. I now eat very intuitively, and my mental health has taken a complete 180.
For the future, I plan to continue training one-on-one (both in person and online), lifting weights with the goal of getting into professional bodybuilding (in 2023), and creating content on fitness and self-love, as I enjoy sharing all the tips and insights I’ve learned along the way.
I specialize in weight loss and nutrition, have a passion for strength training, and have picked up on many corrective exercise techniques along the way, so I consider myself to be quite well-rounded. However, my niche is definitely working with those who are wanting to lose weight, or anyone (especially women) who have a strong interest in weight training.
